As a high-performance open-back design, The Arranger headphones are intended to be used as part of a dedicated listening system by pairing with a high-quality headphone amplifier, a DAC and high-resolution music source or streaming service.
AUSTRIAN AUDIO
Austrian Audio has launched The Arranger, a pair of open-back headphones designed for dedicated home listening. The new headphones are designed to bridge the gap between the company’s award-winning Hi-X series and its flagship Composer reference headphones.
The Arranger brings Austrian Audio’s high-end engineering to a slightly more accessible price point of £899 in the UK. The Arranger has a newly developed dynamic driver, is made from premium materials and the design is fully serviceable for many years of service.
Since launching in 2017, Austrian Audio has become a serious brand in headphone design. Its Hi‑X range has earned glowing reviews and major international awards, while 2023’s Composer flagship model took the company into the high-end audiophile category.

Natural And Spacious
The Arranger is an over-the-ear and open-back design that was developed to provide a natural and spacious presentation with clear spatial placement. The design allows sound to breathe, helping instruments and voices occupy defined positions across an extended soundstage rather than sounding as if they are confined within the listener’s head.
The headphones are built around a newly developed 44mm dynamic driver that’s designed and manufactured by Austrian Audio. It uses a diamond-like carbon-coated diaphragm for rigidity and control, paired with a proprietary ring magnet system.
The result, says Austrian Audio, is a fast transient response, low distortion and consistent linearity across the frequency range. The bass extension reaches down to a rumbling 5Hz, allowing low-frequency detail to be reproduced cleanly rather than boosted artificially.

Comfortable Fit
Comfort and durability are central to The Arranger’s design. Soft suede leatherette ear pads, a lightweight metal frame and robust metal hinges are combined with a foldable structure to make storage and transport easier without compromising build quality. The construction delivers a robust design, yet with an overall weight of just 310 grams, there’s less chance of fatigue during long listening sessions.
All key wear components, including the ear pads and headband, are user-replaceable, meaning parts that naturally wear over time can be swapped easily, extending the headphone’s usable life. Like Austrian Audio’s other premium products, The Arranger is manufactured in Europe using carefully selected materials, with longevity firmly in mind.
The Arranger headphones have a 4-pin symmetrical socket, supporting the supplied TRS cable as well as optional balanced cables, including 4.4mm Pentaconn and 5-pin XLR connections. This allows users to connect directly to a wide range of headphone amplifiers, with balanced outputs offering lower noise and improved channel separation when used with compatible equipment.

These headphones are designed to deliver more resolution, scale and refinement than Austrian Audio’s Hi-X range, while remaining more accessible than The Composer model in terms of price and system requirements.
