French high-fidelity audio specialist Devialet and carmaker Denza, a subsidiary of the Chinese BYD group, have entered into a collaboration designed to revolutionize the sound experience inside electric vehicles. Through this partnership, the two brands aim to make the passenger compartment a truly immersive space, where design, comfort and sonic precision are combined.

A meeting of two technological worlds
The collaboration between Denza and Devialet is based on a shared goal: to redefine the standards of user experience, both in terms of mobility and sound. Where Denza seeks to embody a new form of automotive excellence with its electric vehicle range, Devialet brings its recognized expertise in acoustics.

The Devialet x Denza partnership combines patented technologies such as SAM (Speaker Active Matching), which optimizes speaker frequency response, with a precise, customized speaker layout in each vehicle. Devialet SPACE technology ensures 360° sound, immersing passengers in an immersive sound bubble.
Note from the expert
SAM (Speaker Active Matching) is a Devialet technology that perfectly synchronizes the amplifier and speakers. By precisely modeling the physical behavior of each driver, it corrects signal delays and distortion in real time. The result: a more faithful, spatially coherent sound, better bass extension and continuous speaker protection.
Another innovation from Devialet is the automatic Speed Dependent Volume Control (SDVC). On-board personalization is pushed to the extreme to offer a tailor-made experience. SDVC technology can be individually adjusted according to passenger position. As a result, every sonic detail is controlled to provide complete immersion for all passengers.

Note from the expert
Devialet and Denza have been partners since 2023. While this is the French manufacturer's first long-term car audio project, the brand had already conducted several one-off experiments. Back in 2017, Devialet designed an in-vehicle audio system for the Renault Symbioz concept car. Three years later, Devialet took a new step in in-car software integration with Faurecia (which later became Forvia). Finally, in 2024, the hi-fi specialist designed the audio system for the Alpine A290.
Three vehicles, three customized audio experiences
Three Denza models are now equipped with a Devialet audio system, each adapted to its position in the automotive market and its specific uses. All use SAM and SDVC technologies for optimum comfort.
The Denza N7 electric SUV inaugurated the partnership between the automaker and Devialet. It features 16 speakers distributed throughout the cabin, for an enveloping sound reproduction.
The Denza D9 Pioneer VIP minivan features 22 speakers, 17 of which are dedicated to the rear cabin. The whole system operates over 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos channels for exceptional three-dimensional sound immersion, thanks to the integration of speakers in the headrests.

Finally, the top-of-the-range Denza Z9 GT sedan is equipped with 26 speakers and 27 active channels, all powered by their own amplifier. This ultra-sophisticated system includes 6 tweeters and 7 midrange drivers, combined with 4 woofers, a subwoofer and 4 headrest-mounted drivers for a detailed audio reproduction. It’s a showcase for the expertise of both brands. The Denza Z9 GT features a luxurious interior, in keeping with the quality of the audio system developed by Devialet.
Exclusive technologies and full immersion
Devialet brings the standards of high-fidelity home audio to the automotive world. In each configuration, acoustic technologies allow you to feel bass frequencies as low as 20Hz, thanks to custom-designed woofers. Signal processing ensures precise sound reproduction throughout the cabin.
Inside the the Denza D9 Pioneer VIP vehicle, two woofers and a subwoofer are dedicated solely to the rear seats, creating an acoustic environment comparable to a high-end listening room. The Denza Z9 GT sedan goes even further with a complex audio architecture, where Devialet promises that every note resonates with unrivaled clarity. The strategic integration of the drivers enables three-dimensional sound immersion, regardless of the passenger’s position.
Summary
Devialet and Denza join forces to bring a new dimension of sound to high-end electric vehicles. Through three models (N7, D9 Pioneer and Z9 GT), this collaboration illustrates the advanced integration of cutting-edge audio technologies (SAM, SPACE, SDVC) into vehicle interiors designed like high-fidelity listening spaces. This partnership marks a significant step forward in the convergence of acoustic innovation and luxury automobiles.
